Home to West Street Recording Studio, the Star is an intimate and friendly arts-based bar. It was here that the culture conspiracy was born: a movement that promotes local artists, musicians, writers, poets and performers by providing them with a venue in which to showcase their talents.

What seemed like a natural progression of events led to the development of a recording studio on the same site: there was a clear need to provide a high-quality professional recording resource for the musicians who were attracted to the Star.

The recording studio shares a building with the bar so recording artists benefit from toilet facilities, a kitchen in which they may prepare hot drinks or snacks and, of course, close proximity to stronger refreshment after a successful day’s recording!
